English II
Our classwork is primarily completed in google classroom and canvas. We also use remind 101. This page is an additional resource. If you need information in a timely manner, the best way to reach me is through email. I respond with 24 hours Monday through Friday.
Retesting and Recovery Procedures
Retesting will be conducted after school Tu-Th every. If you miss a test or in-class essay, you will be expected to schedule a time to make up the assessment within 5 days after you return to school. On the day you schedule with me, you will go to the retesting room.
Recovery. A student cannot pass a class if they have more than 10 absences. Any absence over 10 must be recovered. . Please keep the following in mind:
- Students can only go for English (going to another teacher will not count).
- Recovery is from 2:30 to 4:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Recovery starts promptly at 2:30. A student showing up late (even a minute or two) will be turned away.
- Students must bring work. If a student has nothing to do they will not be able to come and/or stay.
Please review syllabus with your parents and have them email me!
Books to Purchase
English 2 Books
Honors English 2 Books
Folgers Edition of Julius Caesar
A Thousand Splendid Suns
Notes on books:
-The Barnes & Noble at the Arboretum will hold a book fair at the beginning of the school year. We work with them to have enough books for all of our students. If you wait to order on Amazon, you may get a different version than the rest of the class, which would complicate classwork assignments that include page numbers.
-Honors students are not allowed to use the "No Fear" version of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.
-If you will not be able to purchase the books, please let Ms. Dudwitt know as soon as possible.
